Mayıs Makina was founded in 1996 by ARSLAN Ş. YILMAZER and M. AKIN ALUÇLUOĞLU. Both are graduates of the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and hold M.S degrees in mechanical engineering.

Prior to this venture, the cofounders were employed at Turkish Maritime Bank and have participated in many major projects including the creation of the Pendik Naval Works. Through the establishment of this new venture,cofounders were able to capitalize of their experiences by initially helping clients with process related questions.This was then followed by equipment design and manufacturing; sales of spare parts,consumables,and specialty clothing; and subcontract sandblasting services.
